The Texas Folklore Society held its 102nd Annual Meeting in Lubbock, Texas on April 6-8, 2018. There were many diverse topics covered in the papers during Saturday's sessions. In addition to freedom colonies, horny toads, jam sessions and picking circles, searching for lost treasure, and door-to-door tombstone sales, we were also treated to a special "tribute presentation" by Steve Kelton, reading a paper his father Elmer Kelton gave as the banquet address at the 1988 meeting in Lubbock.
