Tarleton State University, Texas Folklore Society, Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, and the Langdon Review invite you to a free screening of the award-winning film The Birth & History of Western Swing on Tuesday, April 4 at the Clyde Wells Fine Arts Auditorium at Tarleton State University. A mixer will begin at 6, with the film starting at 7. Immediately after the film, Moumin Quazi, a Professor of English and Folklore Society member, will conduct a Q&A with the filmmaker Mike Markwardt.
Stephenville is the birthplace of Milton Brown, who developed the Western swing genre with Bob Willis in the early 1930s.
